Even after 5 years, the formula of the Elfurenmis shows no signs of wearing out. On the contrary: this season will be a grand-cru edition!
The new Elfurenmis Band, consisting of percussionist Bert Peyffers, bassist Louise van den Heuvel, and pianist Andy Willens, will be accompanied during the 2024-2025 season by a plethora of impressive speakers and high-profile soloists. Hans Claus and Jef Neve will kick things off.
Hans Claus was born in Kortrijk in 1962, the grandson of sculptor and poet Lieven Colardyn and a distant relative of Hugo Claus. In 1984, he graduated as a criminologist and subsequently had a long and distinguished career in the prison system. Additionally, he studied painting, sculpture, and photography at the municipal academies of Halle, Anderlecht, and Ghent. Hans Claus has also published various poetry collections. As a former prison director – now retired – Hans Claus offers his critical, unconventional perspective on the universal theme of 'Crime and Punishment'.
Do we still need to introduce Mr. Jef Neve? We are eagerly anticipating what this pianist/composer will conjure up during this Elfurenmis.
Rashif El Kaoui, the consummate host, will once again ensure everything runs smoothly this season with his sharp texts, melodious voice, and occasional wink.
The Elfurenmissen are a co-production between the VELINX and B-Classic.
